He said Thursday that it has released updates in response to “SUPERNOVA” malware, which the company said was deployed by exploiting a vulnerability on its Orion platform. Shares of the information technology management software company rose 0.4% in pre-market trading on Thursday. Shares had fallen 32% from December 11 to Wednesday, following news of a sophisticated and devastating hack believed to be connected to a Russian group. SolarWinds said it provided two “revision updates” that contained security enhancements, including those designed to prevent certain versions of its Orion platform products from being exploited in a SUPERNOVA attack. Shares have lost 16.4% in the last three months to Wednesday, while the S&P 500 SPX
has gained 13.7%.
