In the sixth beta of iOS 14.5, Apple introduced a process to recalibrate the battery status information system on the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max to cope. to incorrect battery health estimates for some users.
Apple said this process may take a few weeks to complete, and now that two weeks have passed since the sixth version of iOS 14.5 was released, some users are starting to see the battery health percentages revised. 9to5Mac writer Benjamin Mayo tweeted that the maximum battery capacity of his iPhone 11 Pro compared to when it was new increased from 86% to 90%, for example, and the tech website The 8 bits has collected results from other users.
My phone has just calibrated the battery (part of iOS 14.5 for 11 series phones). I went from 86% of the declared maximum capacity to 90%. So there you have it. pic.twitter.com/g5mttxbkiZ

In a support document, Apple said that this error with inaccurate battery health reports does not reflect any problem with the actual battery health of an iPhone and that the recalibration process should resolve the issue. According to Apple, the symptoms of the error include unexpected battery consumption or, in a small number of cases, a reduced maximum performance capacity.
While the battery status reporting system is being recalibrated, users will see an “Important battery message” in Settings> Battery> Battery status, but the maximum capacity percentage displayed will not change during the recalibration. When the process is complete, the new percentage will appear and the message will be deleted.
In a small number of instances, recalibration may not be successful and a new battery service message may appear. If that happens, an Apple-authorized service provider can replace the battery for free to restore maximum performance and capacity, according to Apple, but the company says there is no security risk to customers.
iOS 14.5 has been in beta for more than two months and could be released next week. Apple will host a virtual event on Tuesday, April 10 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time, with a new iPad Pro and other announcements planned.
