Have you ever seen a Disney movie and gotten some? already seen? Not just that feeling of “Oh, this movie has that familiar Disney look and feel,” but rather like, “I swear I’ve literally seen this exact scene before in another movie”?
If you’ve seen a lot of Disney movies, actually have i have seen the same scenes repeated in different movies. People have been pointing out parallel sequences on social media and there are people who are very scared.
Check it out:
Right now I am very confused. 😳😬🤯 https://t.co/gnAExj9bin

Watching this “Jungle Book” and “Winnie the Pooh” sequence, there’s no denying that it’s exactly the same animation template, just with different backgrounds and characters. But how? And why?
Disney has been recycling his animation for various movie scenes since he created Dumbo in 1941. Floyd Norman, a veteran Disney animator who has worked on Disney movies since Sleeping Beauty in 1959 and most recently as Mulan and Toy Story 2, weighed in on the reason for reusing animated sequences, saying:
“It was probably done to save time, to save money. Although I don’t think it saved a lot of time and I don’t think it saved a lot of money because it was much more complicated to go dig that old footage from the archive. It would have been easier to sit down and animate a new scene that goes back and tries to adapt all these old things to something new.We are looking back to the sixties and seventies when people didn’t think how movies would change, how media would change and how people would be able to look at these different films and compare one film with another. ”
This Cartoon Hangovers video shares several recycled Disney scenes and explains why they were reused, showing how it all started with animators tracing live footage of real actors to create more realistic animations in Disney’s first feature film, “Snow White”.
Every Disney Shot & Why Recycle: Snow White, Frozen, Toy Story, Moana and More: Cartoon Hangover

Despite the eventual mega-success of the Disney empire, the company’s beginnings were not so rosy. “Snow White” was a surprise box office success, but later films “Pinocchio,” “Bambi,” and “Fantasy” exceeded the budget and were considered losses for the studio. “Dumbo” was a hit, but then came to World War II. That’s when Disney really started recovering animations.
The main reason was supposed to save time and money. According to Floyd Norman, Walt Disney himself probably didn’t even know or realize that the animators were recycling scenes. He focused more on the big picture and was not so concerned about the technical processes of the animators.
The practice of reusing scenes continued, with “The Sword in the Stone” and “The Jungle Book,” in particular taking many scenes from previous Disney projects. But there are many well-known examples, including “The Aristocrats” who reuse scenes from “101 Dalmatians” and “Robin Hood” by stealing scenes — and even parallel characters — from “The Jungle Book.” Baloo are they?) And other Disney movies.
These 60s, 70s, and 80s Disney movies can trace their recycled animation primarily to a director: Woolie Reitherman. He’s not the only one who uses animation reuse, but he’s best known for it. He basically saw no reason to reinvent the wheel.
However, the practice did not necessarily save time or money. Floyd Norman has pointed out that it’s a lot of work to go through the old footage, find what you want and turn it back into a new animation. Somehow, it would be easier to cheer from scratch.
Even the most recent Disney films have reused scenes, though often not, they serve as a tribute to the original films that made the most recent films possible. Such is the case of the dance scene at the end of “Beauty and the Beast,” which reflects that of the end of “Sleeping Beauty.”
So no, it’s not your imagination – there’s no shortage of Disney scenes that are repeated in different Disney movies. Of course, no one complains that Disney has made tens of productions estimated by billions of people. Maybe recycling scenes is even part of what gives us a sense of familiarity when we watch a Disney movie.
In the end, the animators are magicians. Whatever tools they use to make magic come true, so be it.
