Son of Dominican singer hits the jury of The Voice

Gean Garcia, 19, son of Dominican Catholic music singer Jon Carlo, auditioned on the famous program The voice, Where three of the four judges turned to see him sing.

“I think you’re going to get far, no matter what team you’re on,” said Kelly Clarkson, one of the judges and the coach of the team Garcia chose. While another of the judges, Blake Shelton, said he was “passionate about his voice.”

Garcia, who auditioned for Kodaline’s “All I Want”, also dazzled Nick Jonas, who was blocked by one of the coaches accompanying him in the 20th edition of the reality show, “Gean you’re great,” Nick said.

Another of Judges John Legend told Garcia “you have an interesting voice, it’s almost a bit obsessive. I’m very excited to see what you’ll do on the show.”

Gean Garcia grew up in New York City and currently lives in McAllen, Texas. At his hearing he said that if it had not been for his father the Catholic singer Jon Carlo, he would never have played a guitar.

“I think music is in my DNA. My father Jon Carlo is a Christian music artist in Spanish … if it hadn’t been for him I would never have played a guitar,” he said. While his father expressed “he is a star, he was born as a star.”

Together they recorded the song “My Family,” a whale that highlights the importance of having God as the center of the home, and seeing him as a loving father who never leaves us.

For now, it is expected that this year the Dominican format of this famous start-up contest in the country, where the auditions and the four juries -Nacho have already begun; Milly Quezada; Joan Magan and the salsa player Yiyo Sarante- have already been confirmed.
