Sony PS Planning now in India as PS5 software struggles

Ratchet & Clank PS5 PlayStation 5 1

Sony apparently plans to contribute PlayStation Now soon to more countries, including India. The service is only available in a handful of territories at the moment, but IGN India reports that the coronavirus dropped its plans to expand subscription to more countries last year. As the pandemic begins to settle, the organization seeks to revisit the idea.

Stocks, as has been the case worldwide, are effectively non-existent in India, but a report citing unnamed retailers suggests that the biggest PlayStation problem in the country may be price. It is claimed that upcoming versions like Returnal and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart have pre-order numbers in the “double digits” as Sony is betting on prices of Rs 5,000 compared to Rs 4,000 on PS4.

In response, the Japanese giant wants to highlight initiatives such as the PS Plus Collection i Play at home, but it will be fascinating to see how things unfold here. Virtually not everyone is happy with the prices of PS5 software, however, will this have a significant impact on the company’s end result, especially at a time when there is a strong push for low-priced subscriptions?
