EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – New York giants and security Logan Ryan have agreed on a new three-year extension that will link him to the team until 2023, a source confirmed to ESPN.
The deal is worth $ 30 million with $ 20 million guaranteed, according to the source. NFL Network first reported the terms of the deal.
The two sides, led by Giants deputy general manager Kevin Abrams, and agent Joel Segal, worked through Christmas Eve to get the deal, according to the source. Now it’s a good gift for everyone to have Christmas Day over.
Ryan, 29, won the extension with his strong play this season. He signed a $ 5 million one-year deal with the Giants in late August that included another $ 1.5 million in incentives and admitted his familiarity with new coach Joe Judge was a major factor. The move was made in part because the Giants had just lost the safety of rookie Xavier McKinney due to a foot injury that required surgery.
A Christmas morning we will never forget 🎁

Ryan intervened without problems and is the second of the Giants with 81 attacks. He also has a sack, an interception and three forced funnels, becoming a key piece in a defense that has advanced tremendously this season and has become one of the best units in the league.
The versatility and leadership Ryan has shown have been key to the Giants. Ryan received the defensive headphones and took charge of the call-up when center-back Blake Martinez left a game earlier this season. This is not a common responsibility for free security. She has also been an influential voice in the locker room.
This year hasn’t come without Ryan having experienced his ups and downs. His wife, Ashley, needed emergency surgery for an ectopic pregnancy last month. Logan Ryan credited Giants assistant athletic coach Justin Maher as potentially saving his wife’s life, and was especially complementary to the judge and the way the organization supported them in difficult times.
“And that’s the kind of organization we have here. Honestly, I wasn’t going to talk about it. My kids are fine. My wife is recovering well. She’s fine. That all happened yesterday,” he said. Ryan then. “I [coach Joe Judge] he said, if you have to fly to Florida, don’t worry about football. That’s what Joe is like as a man and as a coach. “
Ryan spent the first four years of his recent Rutgers career with the New England Patriots, where he worked with Giants judge and current defensive coordinator Patrick Graham. He then spent three productive seasons with the Tennessee Titans.
His first year with the Giants (5-9) will be the first lost season of his career. But New York is still in the NFC East race and Ryan has been steadfast in going in the right direction, perhaps increasing his desire to stay with the team.
“I think this team is close,” Ryan said earlier this week. “‘Close’ is a relative term. I think we just have to beat the Ravens [on Sunday]. … The standard is to go out here and win this game. I tell you what, fans who listen or who listens, I prepare to go out and win the game, because that’s all I care about and that’s what’s at stake. ”
Ryan ranks 34th among all guarantees this season with a 67.2 degree for Pro Football Focus. He has allowed just 256 yards, two touchdowns and an 85.0 quarterback as the closest defender this season, according to NextGen Stats.
