Less than a day after losing an offensive coordinator, Shane Beamer approaches another for South Carolina. Marcus Satterfield and Beamer, assistant coach of the Carolina Panthers offensive line, discussed the job and appeared close to a deal Thursday, several sources told Athletic.
Satterfield, 44, would be Beamer’s second contractor to take the job in just one month at work. He hired Mike Bobo, who served as South Carolina’s offensive coordinator and interim coach on 2020, Dec. 28, and the school board approved an $ 1.2 million annual deal this week for Bobo.
“If Mike hadn’t been on the roster when I got that coaching position, it would have been my first call as an offensive coordinator; I think a lot of him,” Beamer said when he retained Bobo. “You see what he did at the University of Georgia and his track record of success for a very, very long time, he speaks for himself.”
