Fast-paced first-person shooters who send you past the earth plane to kill demons, while heavy metal games in the background should pique your interest with some upcoming version. No, no, not another Doom. We are talking about an independent game called In the pit, which has an absolutely banana look. Microsoft took a first look its Gamescom stream rather today.
See how bananas are for yourself:
In the pit it throws you like a mystical traveler in search of “hidden power.” One of your cousins stumbles upon a demonic portal in a lush village surrounded by eldritch horrors. Your cousin’s statements, which had previously been frequent, are stopped. So obviously you have to go check things out.
Although there are details about In the pit they are currently thin, the configuration is clear: immerse yourself in this demonic portal. Instead of boring old weapons, you cast spells. As you explore, you can rescue captured villagers, who will then build the city and open several shops. You can mix and match your permanent unlocks and updates to customize how the dungeon manifests during each of your races.
Yes, “run.” It’s true: he’s a roguelike … with seemingly naked Doom inspirations, from heavy music to fast movement to everything about “killing demons”, written on the sleeve. Register me the devil. (My editor also suggested that the game have some Witches i Heretic vibrations. I admit I haven’t played them, but they sound great and the association may drop those who do.)

Read more: I guess I really like Roguelikes now
The last few years don’t offer fantastic roguelikes, but most of the best, whether it’s the hellish horrors of Dead cells or the divine emotions of Hades—They are action games in the third person. I’m curious, even excited, to see how a roguelike shooter plays in the first person.
In the pit It is scheduled to be released on October 19 on Xbox One and PC and will be released as part of the program Xbox Game Pass Library.
