SPRINGFIELD, Mo (KY3) – Walmart will host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Thursday at a Springfield site. But it is only by appointment.
Walmart will begin administering Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines in Springfield with a clinic run at the Walmart Supercenter, 3315 S. Campbell Ave., beginning Feb. 25 through the U.S. Federal Retail Pharmacy Program. Eligible patients can schedule an appointment with the vaccine through the Walmart website, so it’s a good idea to get vaccinated until the vaccines run out. Vaccines will be available to those who meet the current phase of Missouri vaccine eligibility, which can be found on the Missouri Department of Health website. No insurance is required, there is no cost to receive the vaccine and appointments for the second vaccine will be made at the time of the appointment. Appointments are available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the company expects these events to take place over the next few weeks, as the assignment allows.

Walmart selected vaccine clinics in places that prioritize access for those who are considered most vulnerable. The team took into account demographic information, local health needs, and medically insufficient data to identify places where the company can have the greatest impact on access to vaccines.
“We have two goals in administering vaccines: first, to get as many shots in eligible arms as possible in order to continue the process of reopening our country, and second, to ensure equitable access to vaccines in the communities we serve. our new vaccine clinics are located in medically cared-for neighborhoods and we are proud to help increase access to care in these communities, ”said Dr. Cheryl Pegus, executive vice president of Walmart Health & Wellness. “We will continue to find new ways to increase access to vaccination for our clients as we work toward the end of the pandemic.”
Walmart is partnering with the CDC and states to move forward as quickly as possible to help administer vaccines to eligible populations in participating states. Vaccine supply and eligibility will vary according to state and local guidelines. In addition to appointments, the programmer will provide a digital reminder when it is time to return to the second vaccine, which is why clients are asked to create a profile, helping to ensure that clients receive the second dose of the vaccine in the term required.
Walmart pharmacies will continue to support states and the federal government to help increase the accessibility and availability of COVID-19 vaccines. To stay up to date on how Walmart and Sam’s Club support vaccine implementation, visit https://corporate.walmart.com/covid-vaccine.
