Each match gets at least 15 minutes of sporting fame. Stardew ValleThe competitive moment to shine has just arrived five years after he was initially released. In homage to the game’s greatest speed racers and content creators, and to the passionate community of agricultural simulators they have helped create in the process, Stardew ValleyThe creator announced that he will be giving away $ 40,000 to the winners of the first official agricultural simulator tournament next month.
“I am just happy to announce the first officer Stardew Valley Cup! ”Eric“ ConcernedApe ”Baron announced on Twitter the weekend. “It’s a skill, knowledge and teamwork competition, with a prize pool of over $ 40,000.”
Now you wonder how players compete in a game better known for cultivating crops, making friends, and discovering romance through long but cold games? Well Stardew Valley YouTuber Zach “UnsurpassableZ” Hartman, in collaboration with Barone, posed more than 100 special challenges that players could complete to earn points and get on the scoreboard. Instead of competing to win the match, players will have three hours to try to complete as many challenges as possible, like a scavenger hunt going on inside a video game.
Here are some examples:
- Finish the craft room: 10 points
- Win an ice fishing contest: 15 points
- Give it to the Pale Pale Pale: 5 points
- Make a beloved gift to the feat of the winter star: 25 points
- Reach level 120 in the mines: 10 points
- Complete a monster eradication goal: 20 points
- Get a garbage hat: 10 points
Instead of operating alone, the competition will feature four teams of four players each. Each team will use Stardew Valley‘s multiplayer cooperative to work together on the same map. They will also get an extra point for each item they have submitted during the competition and the team with the most gold at the end will also get 20 extra points. But wait, there’s more! Throughout the event, Hartman will regularly reveal surprise challenges that players learn and decide how to react in situ.
“There will be five challenges in total and each of them is worth 50 points, which I hope will tempt players on their default route and risk the cookie,” he said in a video explaining the next Stardew Valley Cup rules in detail.

Tasks like reaching level 120 in the mines can take up to four players in about an hour to complete, so it will be interesting to see how they prioritize points and divide the work. You can tackle virtually any match with a competitive mindset, but the Stardew Valley Cup seems extremely well thought out and well positioned to create tense and potentially chaotic moments, especially with so much money on the line.
The main event is scheduled to take place on Labor Day weekend on September 4 at 12:00 pm ET with Barone and Hartman live and commenting on all the action. a Twitch i YouTube.
