HOUSTON – Shohei Ohtani reached 44 flyers in the campaign, to lead the majors, but was punished early on the mound by the Houston Stars, who beat the Los Angeles Angels 10-5 on Friday.
Ohtani (9-2) had gotten an 8-0 lead in his last 13 openings since May 28th. This time, he collaborated on his cause with the woodwork, firing a lone homer in the first inning.
But the Japanese, who is a sensation as a pitcher and batsman, allowed six runs and nine hits over three innings and a third. The Venezuelan José Altuve and Alex Bregman beat 5-5 in a combined form against Ohtani.
Bregman, who totaled 4 tows, contributed three hits for the Stars, leaders of the Western Division of the American League. With this same number of unstoppable ones Altuve and the boricua Carlos Correa stood out.
