Start of issuance of acts ending the ‘legalization’

The president of the Central Electoral Board (JCE), Román Jáquez Liranzo, reported that in about a month and a half, the 165 officials and service centers will be able to issue valid Civil Status records that will not need to be legalized.

Jáquez Liranzo gave the explanation this Monday morning to the Civil Status Officer of the 10th District of the National District, where the pilot plan was officially launched and the first validated acts were issued.

“From that moment also circulated are acts with the QR code and the number bar that will serve for the receiving entity to certify that the act is certified, you will circulate together with the previous model until in a month, month and half we can equip all prosecutors, “said the president of the JCE who added that staff working in foreign offices are already being trained so that the system can be implemented in the coming months.

Jáquez recalled that the body issued a communication several weeks ago to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Attorney General’s Office, Higher Electoral Court, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Superintendency of Banks, the General Directorate of Passports, Directorate General of Migration, Directorate General of Retirement and Pensions, Dominican Banking Association, Dominican League of Savings Associations and Major League Baseball (MLB) on the process and that the issue has been socializing since January.

The first beneficiary was Ricardo Antonio Báez, a young man who took an extract from his birth certificate for passport purposes.

“I arrived here at 8 in the morning and already at 8:05 everything was ready; before all this was a matter of a week,” said Báez, who had recently made the process in this Official.

Everything happens so fast, that initially the user verifies the information with a representative of the JCE, then pays in cash 400 pesos for the issuance of the document and then it is printed, validated. This process began in six offices and two service centers and the rest will be gradually integrated into the process.
