Widespread availability is perhaps the most significant evolution of the COVID pandemic in Louisiana since the state closed a few more days than a year ago. Most Louisians were already eligible for a vaccine after the state expanded access to essential jobs that most Louisians occupy: restaurant workers, waiters to construction, manufacturing and collegiate staff.
Vaccines for all over the age of 16 will be available starting Monday, March 29th. Pharmacies in the area reported Wednesday (March 24th) to WBRZ that they were already planning for wider availability. Play WBRZ news here all day to see new and advanced information.

By the end of April, more than a million people in Louisiana will have fully completed their vaccines. It takes 14 days after the second dose of the two-shot regimen or 14 days after the single-dose vaccine to be considered fully vaccinated.
