MADISON, Wisconsin (WBAY) – Wisconsin continues to approach the milestone of two million “arm shots,” in addition to having 700,000 people complete the series of vaccines in the state.
According to the Department of Health Services (DHS), the state has administered another 32,182 shots in the arm since Saturday’s report, which meant the total number of vaccines administered was 1,994,341. This number is for both Wisconsin residents and non-residents.
Currently, the state averages 39,670 doses a day, meaning Wisconsin could reach its total two-arm shot on Monday.
Meanwhile, DHS says another 11,275 people completed the series of vaccines as of Saturday, bringing the statewide total to 698,915, or 12.1% of the state’s population authorized to receive the vaccine. The state’s seven-day average for the number of people completing the series of vaccines per day is 15,886, meaning the state could meet the 700,000 milestones as early as Monday.
A total of 1,251,433 vaccine doses have been administered to Wisconsin residents alone, equivalent to 21.5% of the population. This figure increased by 20,341 in the last 24 hours. The average seven-day dose administered to Wisconsin residents alone is 25,034.
The population of Wisconsin is 5,822 million people.
According to DHS, a total of 267,474 doses of vaccine were administered to Wisconsin residents during the week of March 7, but health officials say that number may fluctuate.
Vaccination figures are expected to increase rapidly over the spring, as two million people with medical conditions will be able to receive the COVID-19 vaccine as of March 29th. As reported by Action 2 News earlier Sunday, Fox Cities ’COVID-19 vaccine clinic announced an expansion of people eligible to sign up for an appointment at that site.
In Northeast Wisconsin, health officials say 12.8% of the eligible population has completed their vaccine series, which equates to 60,802 people.
DHS says a total of 161,163 shots have been administered so far to residents in the Northeast Wisconsin region, with 20,046 doses given this week.
In the Fox Valley, Wisconsin region, state health officials report that 24,232 doses of the vaccine have been administered this week. A total of 175,046 vaccine doses were administered.
So far, DHS reports that the region has seen 11.6% of the population, or 62,747 people, complete the series of vaccines.
The state revised its death toll on Sunday, reducing the COVID-19 death toll to 6,536. The seven-day average is currently eight deaths a day, one less than Saturday’s report.
Meanwhile, a total of 274 new cases were reported on Sunday, bringing the state’s total accumulated positive evidence to 569,638.
The state reported 3,548 new negative results for people who tested the new coronavirus for the first time in the last 24 hours, which meant the state total was 2,669,554.
Officials say 17 more people were hospitalized for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
The state says 556,803 people have recovered from the virus, which equates to 97.8% of all confirmed cases. Meanwhile, the state says another 6,140 cases are considered active as of Sunday, which equates to 1.1% of all confirmed cases.

HOSPITALIZATIONS
According to the Wisconsin Hospital Association, 212 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, 14 less than on Saturday and 37 less than a week ago. Of those patients, 57 are in the ICU, seven fewer than on Saturday and a decrease again from last week.

Els CDC també van aconsellar a les persones vacunades que es facin proves si desenvolupen símptomes que podrien estar relacionats amb COVID-19.

- Agitació repetida amb calfreds
