TAMPA, Florida – A new COVID-19 vaccination site opens Thursday at the University Mall in Tampa.
Those over the age of 65 or older and health workers can receive the vaccine at the new state location.
It’s all part of the state’s “Seniors First” initiative. Prioritize vaccination of the elderly, and the more locations the vaccine is offered, the more likely people will receive it.
This particular site will offer 1600 doses of the Pfizer vaccine every day.
It requires two doses, so all vaccinated people will have to return in three weeks for the second dose.
The place is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days a week. You must register in advance and schedule an appointment to receive a vaccine.
To make an appointment call 1-866-200-3896.
