Dying Light 2: Stay Human, the first person zombie parkour game scheduled for a December 7 release, has been delayed, developer Techland announced in tweet today. It will now be released on February 4, 2022 for Xbox, PlayStation and PC, contributing to what is being set up the most stacked release month of all time, always.

This is the last highlight on a rocky road to Dying light 2, the long – awaited follow – up to the popularity of 2015 Dying light. It was first announced in 2018 and initially slated for the spring 2020 version delayed indefinitely January 2020. But Techland kept the community assessed for its status through intermittent development updates and the Morir 2 Saber video series.

Techland subsequently suffered fire for one of these videos this March. In the clip, the developers read the vitriol messages full of explosiveness left by nasty “fans”, all to make jokes, before apologizing to these people, a move that according to critics played directly in some of the worst impulses of the video game community.

Today’s ad did not make this mistake. And interestingly, unlike others recently high profile delays, Techland did not cite complications from working during a pandemic as a reason for the delay. Rather, the company noted that the game only needs one more touch of work.

“The game is complete and we are currently testing it … Unfortunately, we have noticed [that] because we bring the game to the level we anticipate, we need more time to polish and optimize it, ”said the developer he wrote. “We’re sorry everyone is waiting for you a little longer, but we want the game to meet your highest expectations at launch and we don’t want to make any commitments.”

Every first look Dying light 2 has indicated a game that offers more (more zombies, more action, a more fleshless city) than what made the former so prominent. It seems, so far, a solid game that could be another runaway success for the studio. But the new release date means it will have some serious competition. Dying light 2 now the lands are placed in the middle of a stacked field that includes Sifu, Elden ring, Horizon Forbidden West, Rainbow Six extraction, Pokémon Legends Arceus, and the next major expansion for Destiny 2.
