Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger offers comparisons for TE Pat Freiermuth

In the first quarter of Saturday’s preseason game with the Detroit Lions, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger connected twice with rookie finalist Pat Freiermuth for touchdowns.

After the game, when asked about Freiermuth, Roethlisberger left a subtle but effective comparison to former Steeler Heath Miller.

Miller and Roethlisberger played together for 11 seasons and Miller is widely considered the best tight end in franchise history. This makes the comparison with Freiermuth even more interesting.

Pittsburgh drafted Freiermuth in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft away from Penn State. Freiermuth is a weird athlete with impressive body control and length. He proved on Saturday night that if you throw him, he will find a way to get up and get it.
