Steph Curry’s father, Dell Curry, accused his wife Sonya of an extramarital affair with former NFL player Steven Johnson in their separation.
Dell, 58, said in court documents reviewed by TMZ that 55-year-old Sonya had cheated him on his relationship with Johnson, 56, which in 1988 was the sixth round pick of the New England Patriots.
Sonya “began her extramarital affair with Mr. Johnson during the marriage and before the date of separation” in March 2020, Dell’s legal team reported in court documents, adding that Sonya “lied [Dell] every time he cheated on her.

Dell said in legal documents that Sonya should not be eligible for alimony, as she currently lives with Johnson in Tennessee.
Sonya acknowledged that she had dated a man the “later months” she and Dell separated, but denied living with him, saying she lives alone, as Dell would not let her stay in the family home after the their separation.
Sonya filed proceedings on June 14 in North Carolina over Dell’s separation alleging that her “marital misconduct” included multiple matters known to family and friends.
He said he did not publicly reveal his knowledge of Dell’s traps in a final act of trying to protect [him] and the family for a possible public exhibition and scrutiny “.

Johnson, 56, played college football at Virginia Tech between 1984 and 1987, and played in three games for the 1988 Ducks.
According to his website, the native of Bristol, Virginia, has run his Johnson Commercial Development construction business since 1995.
The former couple have famously cheered on Golden State Warriors superstar Steph, 33, and their son Seth, 31, who has played in several NBA franchises, and are the parents of Sydel’s daughter, 26 years.
Sonya and Dell initially met at Virginia Tech University and received Steph in 1988, Seth in 1990 and daughter Sydel in 1994.

Dell served as a guard in the NBA from 1986 to 2002, spending ten years with the Charlotte Hornets, with stays with the Utah Jazz, Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors.
Since 2009 she has been working as a Hornets commentator, while Sonya presides over a Christian Montessori school.
Last year, the couple worked on a podcast called Raising Fame, focusing on sports families.
