Steve Martin revealed on Sunday on Twitter who had received the COVID-19 vaccine, calling the overall process “soft as silk.”
“Good news / Bad news. Good news: I just got vaccinated! Bad news: I have it because I’m 75 years old. Ha! Martin told his 8.7 million followers.
“The operation in New York was as smooth as silk (sorry for the cliché @BCDreyer!) And perfectly welcomed by the US military and national guard. Thank you all and thank you for the science,” he continued. ‘actor.
When a fan pressured him on how to get the vaccine, as they were having trouble getting one for an older relative, Martin said he signed up online and also waited in line.
“I signed up for the ON line through a New York dot government website (sorry, I don’t have the exact location) and waited on the IN line at the Javits Center,” Martin explained.
He later wrote, “At the moment I have no fideist resects.”
Some side effects have been linked to COVID-19 vaccines, according to the CDC, including pain and swelling in the arm where a patient received a shot.
Martin is not the only star recently vaccinated in New York. Last week, Martha Stewart confirmed she had received the COVID-19 vaccine and documented the moment on social media.
“I was vaccinated today in a designated vaccine bag near the Martha Stewart Center for Life in downtown Mount Sinai,” the 79-year-old posted on Instagram at the time.
Like Martin, Stewart also waited in line.
“To dispel your concerns about the fact that I skipped the line, you know I’m within the approved age group for this batch of vaccines and I waited in line with others,” Stewart said.
