Stinnett police chief arrested by Texas Rangers resigns after Facebook post goes viral – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

Former Stinnett police chief Jason Collier was now arrested Thursday by the Texas Rangers after being put on administrative leave on Wednesday. The Stinnett City Facebook page confirmed that Collier has resigned.

Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant. Cindy Barkley said Tuesday that the Hutchinson County District Attorney’s Office asked the Texas Rangers to conduct a criminal investigation into Collier.

“Allegedly, Collier sent a text message to the victim with a fraudulent government document attached. The document was a fraudulent marriage annulment,” said Sgt. Barkley.

Sergeant. Barkley said Collier was charged with manipulating a government document with intent to defraud, a state jail offense. He said Collier’s bond was set at $ 10,000.
