Since the Super Bowl was first held in 1967 there was one half time show. At first it was the martial bands from different universities that made simple presentations in the field.

In the 1970s and 1980s some local and jazz musicians were invited. Already in the 90s sounded renowned artists and enjoyed great popularity at that time, as the New kids on the blog i Gloria Estefan.

However, the audience began to lose interest in the half-time show and the numbers plummeted. Until 1993 when the NBC network that was in charge of the transmission that year contracted to Michael Jackson to give the show. Prince- February 4, 2007
Amid a torrential downpour that fell at Dolphins Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, the late Prince gave one of the most memorable shows. With the opening song, Let ‘s go Crazy, it raised the temperature and spirits of the fan pops. However the apotheosis came when Prince played Purple Rain still with rain falling on the stage.

Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake – February 1, 2004
