Wisconsin police have arrested a suspect in the early hours of the morning against a Kenosha bar that left three dead, police and news reported.
The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday evening that he had “a person of interest” in the deadly shooting at the Somers House tavern around 1 p.m.
Police have not identified the suspect, but the arrest comes after an hour of hunting for the shooter.
The unnamed suspect is being held for a felony of intentional first-degree murder, as additional charges are expected to be accepted, according to Kenosha News.
Authorities initially said two victims were injured in the incident, but the sheriff’s sergeant. David Wright told the media that three injured people had been identified and hospitalized, and said there may be a fourth.
The three people shot dead have not been identified.
Wright said police conducted “numerous interviews” with bar patrons and reviewed surveillance footage of the site after the incident.
Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth said Sunday there was a fight at the bar and the gunman was kicked out, only to return minutes later with a handgun.
“They make me believe there was some kind of confrontation inside,” the sheriff said. “Management asked this person to leave and then came back shortly after and shot people.”
“We thought our suspect knew who he was targeting,” Beth said.
A witness told Kenosha News that there was an exchange of gunfire.
The deadly incident comes after a massive shooting blast in the United States, including the deaths of eight people at a FedEx warehouse in Indianapolis on Thursday.
