Swiss Watch Maker launches $ 30,800 clone of Apple Watch with mechanical loading wheel

In 2016, when the Apple Watch was still a relatively new device, Swiss watchmaker H. Moser & Cie came out with a high-end mechanical Apple Watch clone called the Swiss Alp Watch, with a rectangular watch face with round and curved edges. a crown on the side and Apple Watch-style pads.

H. Moser and Cie have today released the follow-up to the original Swiss Alp Watch, presenting the $ 30,800 Swiss Alp Watch “Final Update”, which the company says is the “climax of the Swiss Alp Watch saga.”

With the same rectangular design as the original Apple Watch and Swiss Alp Watch, the final update was created after a customer from H. Moser & Cie suggested the design. The DLC steel box features a Vantablack sphere and, for those unfamiliar with Vantablack, is considered one of the darkest substances known, absorbing up to 99.965 percent of visible light.

Instead of a traditional second hand, the final update includes an Apple Watch-style charging symbol, which of course mocks the Apple Watch. H. Moser plays with the theme of simplicity and “less is more” in his marketing materials.

“No updates, no poor battery life, no unnecessary features, no annoying notifications, just the only reminder you really need: unplug from all the noise and appreciate every moment,” reads a description of the watch.

The load wheel or “shaded disk formed by openings” is intended to “serve to remind you that here and now is all that matters.”
