Crispy Taco Bell Chicken Sandwich and Spicy Chicken Sandwich Tacos
Taco Bell
Chicken sandwich wars to the fullest can be close.
Taco Bell said Monday that it will test its own view of the menu item starting March 11 in Nashville, Tennessee, and Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Yum Brands will become at least the fourth fast food brand to announce a chicken sandwich in the last month. Restaurants are looking for chicken to fuel sales this year because the category is growing faster than beef. Chicken sandwiches, in particular, are growing in popularity thanks to the success of the Popeyes version and the expansion of Chick-fil-A beyond its southeastern roots.
The Taco Bell dam is drawn from the same vague Mexican inspiration as the rest of its menu. The crispy chicken sandwiches are served on flatbread with a piece of crispy omelette chicken and chipotle sauce and will sell for $ 2.49 each. A spicy version with jalapeno slices will also be available.
Taco Bell also mocked that tac will not be the only new crunchy chicken product to hit the menus this year. It’s also not the first time it offers crispy chicken on the menu. Previous hits include his Crispy Chickstar Chickstar, a star-shaped tortilla wrap stuffed with crispy chicken; Naked chicken chips, crispy chip-shaped pieces of chicken that come with nacho sauce; and the naked chicken Chalupa, an omelet-shaped piece of chicken stuffed with typical taco fillings.
Chicken sandwiches make up 47.8% of all U.S. restaurant menus, according to Datassential’s MenuTrends. And there is a flood of new entrances along the way.
McDonald’s told investors last year it would double the chicken, including launching its own chicken sandwich on Wednesday. Taco Bell’s sister chain, KFC, has introduced a premium option on the menu item, while Wendy’s has announced a pop version of jalapeno. Burger King, of the Brand International restaurant, is trying a hand-breaded chicken sandwich for a nationwide launch.
