TALLAHASSEE, Florida (WCTV) – The Tallahassee police department says it has arrested three men after months of investigating opioid overdoses in the community.
Several drug units and TPD communities began the investigation in May after they were informed of several people known to be selling narcotics outside the home, according to the department.
According to TPD, several people thought they were buying cocaine from the suspects, but were instead given fentanyl, which led to an overdose.
“The probable cause was developed and on September 8 search warrants were executed at each residence,” the press release says.
Officers found 11 grams of cocaine, 5 grams of marijuana and drug accessories during a search of a Gibbs Drive block 100 residence, according to TPD. The statement also states that the department found more than 288 grams of marijuana, 17 grams of cocaine, three pistols and more than $ 1,900 in cash during a search of the Pinellas St. block.
The following people were arrested after the searches:
- Jarvis Williams, 38
- CHARGES: possession of cocaine intended to sell within 1,000 meters of a church, possession of marijuana intended to sell less than 1,000 meters from a church, sale of cocaine less than 1,000 meters from a church, maintenance of a drug house and possession of paraphernalia on drugs.
