These places will be open on New Year’s Day 2021
For many, New Year’s Day means sleeping late and recovering after the night of celebration. But for others, it’s a day to top up or eat out.

If your idea of holiday joy is to hit the mall to spend some of your cash earned on New Year’s Day, start celebrating.
Many of the country’s major commercial destinations, from Apple to Bloomingdale’s and Home Depot, will be open Wednesday.
But be sure to check it out before you leave home, as not all stores will be there and many will have reduced hours. Game Stop, Sam’s Club and Costco are some of the ones taking a vacation. Several pharmacies will also be closed.
Some small businesses will also close. According to Womply, a small business software provider, New Year’s Day is one of the slowest days of the year for local retailers with 1 in 5 not open.
“If you plan to negotiate the hunt on New Year’s Day, be sure to check the store hours beforehand,” said Brad Plothow, Womply’s vice president of marketing and corporate communications.
