Taylor Swift joined TikTok on Monday to announce that she was re-recording Red it is now available for pre-sale on its website.
In her opening video, Swift trimmed the clips of herself in different costumes that evoke the four albums he released over the last year: a peasant top for folklore, a plaid blazer for forever, a yellow home kernel dress for Fearless (Taylor version), and a black turtle neck and a red lipstick for Red (Taylor version), to expire this November. The video features the song “Screwface Capital,” which includes the line “My Outstanding Payments Like Taylor.”
Speaking as someone who only looks at text messages from my TikToks friends, I found it a bit superficial. But for Swift fans, of course, this was an event as well as an opportunity to hunt for Easter eggs on Swift’s TikTok page, which so far only includes this (1) video. However, Taylor Swift’s fan account Taylor Swift World used a number of “tracks” to determine that Swift is likely to release the first single from Red [Taylor’s version] in September 10, two days before the VMAs.
The user behind the account deduced this from Swift’s avatar on TikTok, which shows her in a bear costume. Coincidentally, National Teddy Bear Day is September 9, explain …But since Swift liked 10 TikToks, that means the release date is the 10th. Of course!

Given that a TikTok user correctly guessed that Kylie Jenner was pregnant again based on a single nail photo, who am I to doubt the seventies? Still, I think it’s more likely that, like me, another millennial woman, Swift has little idea what to do on the platform (beyond promoting her new album). Someone will give you more inspiration for transitions between clips.
