Tecatito Corona will surpass Carlos Vela and Chicharito as the highest paid Mexican footballer

The highest paid Mexicans are in MLS, Vela and Chicharito, but that may change if Porto accepts Jesus Corona’s terms to renew his contract.

Jesus Crown aims to become the highest paid Mexican footballer for the 2021-2022 season. After eight years in Old Continent football, the striker wants his best contract to continue with FC Porto, which includes a salary increase multiplied by four to continue defending the Dragons.

According to reports, Tecatito Corona wants a salary of 6 million euros per season to extend his contract with Porto, which ends in 2022, which would mean quadrupling his current income, which is around 1.5 million euros, according to information from Salary Sport.

The new contract of the Porto striker would exceed the income they get Carlos Vela and Javier Hernández, The two highest paid in the MLS, both with revenues of 5.3 million and 5 million euros, just below Tecatito Corona.

Hirving Lozano is still the highest paid Mexican footballer in Europe, because Napoli gives him a salary of 4.5 million euros a year, according to the annual salary report published by Gazzeta dello Sport.

Tecatito Corona is the ninth highest paid player in Porto, where the Brazilian Felipe Anderson is the best income with 4.9 million euros. Elements like Pepe, Agustín Marchesín and Matheus Uribe have better incomes than the Mexican, who came to the Dragons in 2015.
