The Texas senator’s family happily soaked up the Mexican sun on Friday, without him, after leaving the Lone Star State, where millions experienced power outages and recorded freezing temperatures during a deadly winter storm, according to exclusive photos.

Cruz’s wife, Heidi, was seen in the sand in a red bikini under a blue beach umbrella, video and photos obtained by The Post.

Cruz interrupted the trip for two days and returned to Houston Thursday night after receiving reactions from members and colleagues for leaving his state while millions of jeans remained in the dark.

At first, the Republican senator blamed his daughters’ trip, saying he only accompanied them to Mexico.

But after arriving in the United States, he acknowledged to reporters that the getaway was “obviously a mistake and, in retrospect, he would not have done it.”

Heidi Cruz reportedly bragged about the couple’s trip to Cancun and said in a text string that they were looking to escape the “FROZEN” weather, according to leaked text messages obtained by local newspaper Reform Austin.

The winter storm has claimed the lives of more than 30 people across the state.
