A 15-year-old man was killed and another was injured in a weekend shooting at a “haunted” resort in the Pittsburgh area, police said.
The shootings erupted after a dispute between a group of teenagers Saturday night in Haunted Hills Hayride, north of Versailles, the KDKA news station reported.
“We heard gunshots and someone ran past us and said nothing [We heard] about four or five [gunshots], and they evacuated us, ”employee Pipper Donaldson told the outlet.
The teenager who was killed was pronounced dead at a local hospital, while the surviving victim was taken in critical condition for treatment, police said. Their identities have not been released.
“What goes through my head when a 15-year-old boy is shot dead … I think it’s a terrible shame,” Allegheny County Police Lt. Vernando Costa said. “You come to an area where you have fun and there are innocent people around who could have been injured. People not involved. “
Police are looking for a teenage shooter, aged 15 to 17, who fled the scene while wearing dark blue shorts and a blue backpack, KDKA reported.
