“We arrived at the scene and there was a big commotion,” MDA paramedic Shlomi Pinchas said. “The two wounded were conscious and stabbed. We provided them with advanced medical care in the field that included bandages, stopped the bleeding and medication and evacuated them quickly to the hospital as they were in moderate condition.”
Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center announced Monday afternoon that the two stabbed victims were taken to the hospital’s trauma unit in stable, conscious condition.
The commander of the Jerusalem Israeli police district, Doron Turjeman, told reporters that the assailant is believed to be a 17-year-old from the Hebron area and that two additional suspects have been arrested.
“The deployment and rapid response along with the determination and exercises conducted in Jerusalem every day led to the rapid neutralization of the terrorist and the prevention of additional lives in danger,” Turjeman said. “An excellent response from the agents.”
Turjeman added that there is “no doubt” that an escalation is taking place, stressing that police are prepared for any situation.
The terrorist was checked by a police killer and is receiving medical treatment.
