According to various reports on the web, Tesla has begun offering one year of free, unlimited supercharging as the end of its quarter and year-end delivery drive approaches.
According to reports, Tesla’s sales staff in North America have been told to offer a free year of supercharging for “unpaid” Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. The ad runs from December 12 to 31. Model 3 Standard Range vehicles are excluded.
This is no surprise. Tesla has done this before, and the company will do it again. We are well aware that the electric vehicle manufacturer pulls out all stops at the end of each quarter. Also, each quarter is more important than the last, and the icing on the cake is made at the end of the year. I mean … if Tesla could really pull off its lofty production and distribution targets.
Elon Musk recently said the demand from employees is strong, but the pace of production needs to increase. It is interesting to note that Tesla goes to great lengths to further strengthen demand. We have seen reduced prices in some areas, not to mention that Tesla is upgrading its most popular car to date – the Model 3 – just before the end of the year. The company abruptly stopped production of the Model S and Model X for a period of time, which may or may not be closely related.
Tesla aims to deliver approximately 500,000 vehicles by 2020. Doubts have been raised as to whether this number could be pulled throughout the year. This was especially true when the company was shut down by several companies around the world due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Nevertheless, Tesla has consistent quarters in terms of distributions and profits.
It is expected to deliver more than 180,000 vehicles in Q4 by 2020, far more than its current record. Although Tesla used banking with a large number of people who bought its cars later this year due to the US federal EV tax credit, it is no longer so. Now, it needs to develop other programs to promote distribution.
