Texans call for six NFL players or draft picks for DeShaun Watson

Watson doesn’t want to be in Houston and the team has put a ‘price’ on his rebellious star

the The Houston Texans are looking for a six-player package and NFL draft picks of teams interested in switching to star quarterback DeShaun Watson this summer, league sources told ESPN.

Whether the package consists of one player and five draft picks or two players and four picks, the Jeans are unwilling to give in on their exchange price for Watson, Who remains on his roster though will not be active for Sunday’s first game of the season against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Texans do not plan to play against Watson at all this season, but league sources believe the Houston general manager, Nick Caserio, will not switch to the three-time Pro Bowler for no less than the six players and teams combined.

Sources mentioned a ESPN that no team is willing to meet Caserio’s sale price without putting conditions on the selections because of ongoing investigations by the FBI, Houston Police Department and the NFL over Watson, who faces 22 civil lawsuits active with allegations of sexual assault and misconduct.

Watson and his attorneys have denied the allegations and no charges have been filed. Watson’s attorney, Rusty Hardin, said last month that Watson also spoke with the FBI about the extortion allegations regarding one of the 23 lawsuits originally filed against him. Until last month, Watson had not spoken directly to the NFL, according to Hardin.

Watson requested an exchange in January because he was not satisfied with the management of the franchise and the process used to hire Caserio.

Informants previously told ESPN that the Texans are ready to keep Watson on his 53-man roster throughout the season, though they will have to pay his $ 10,500,000 salary.

Tyrod Taylor will open Sunday against Jacksonville, while rookie Davis Mills will be the Houston substitute.
