According to an update posted to her GoFundMe account, Cypress’s Victoria Gallardo, 33, died on March 16th. She leaves behind her husband, Armando, and five young children.
“Please understand that he fought this battle to his last breath,” the update read. “While many family members, friends and others prayed for her recovery, we recognize that she is now healed, but not in the way we expected.”
Houston’s KTRK-TV first reported on Victoria’s battle with the coronavirus earlier this month. Her husband said they took the virus seriously. They wore masks and practiced social distancing, but their 9-year-old daughter caught the virus after showing symptoms one day at school.
“We wore masks everywhere,” Armando said at the time.

The family of seven became ill, including their newborn daughter when she was just 11 days old.
“He had a very high fever, he didn’t want to eat, he slept a lot,” Armando said of his newborn. “We cared so much. We didn’t think she would do it at all.”
But as he and the children got better, he said Victoria got worse.
“He has no health problems. He has no underlying conditions,” Armando said at the time. “He entered the ICU and has been in critical condition.”
Now Armando is left with the couple’s five young children. Friends and family are hoping the GoFundMe account will help raise money for the family. Victoria was a military veteran, according to friends. If you’re interested in donating, visit Victoria’s GoFundMe here.
