Texas Winter Storm: This is where you can get free food and water Sunday in the Houston area

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – As the Houston area continues to address the recovery from the winter storm, several groups have organized free water or food distribution events throughout the city.

The following list will be updated with new information as we receive it.

Sunday, February 21st

Houston

HISD / Houston Food Bank lunch – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – NRG Stadium
The Montrose Center – water and non-perishable – 13.00 to 15.00 – 401 Branard St.
Butler Stadium – aigua – 14.00 h 13755 S. Main St.
Molina Healthcare of Texas / Viet Alley Restaurant – food – from 16.00 to 18.00 – 11210, boulevard Bellaire # 133.
Barbecue Burns – food – 8307 De Priest Street.
Alief Crump Stadium – food – 2 pm to 4 pm – 12321 High Star Dr.

City of Missouri – Filling of water jugs – 12 noon – Highway 4713

The Houston Food Bank offers home delivery service to the most vulnerable who need immediate assistance. Households will receive a disaster and home water box if they are:

  • People with disabilities

Your call center will make reservations until Monday, February 22 at 832-369-9390.

If you are disabled or do not have reliable transportation to get to the water places, you can register to get it through CrowdSource Rescue.

Monday, February 22nd

Houston

  • HISD / Houston Food Bank – 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Hattie Mae White Educational Support Center – 4400 W. 18th St.

As a result of the water problems, Houston is expected to remain under a boiling water warning until Monday, February 22nd. But residents of many other cities suffer, with no water to boil.
