A popular Final Fantasy XIV the hairstyle that has not been available in the game for years will return permanently, Square Enix announced this morning.

Final Fantasy XIV players will be able to purchase the anime’s Rainmaker hairstyle (pictured above) for the first time since 2017, when the extensive expansion of Patch 5.5 falls on April 13th. Originally introduced to the MMORPG as part of the “Make It Rain” seasonal event, the hairstyle will now be in the Gold Saucer amusement park, exchangeable for the area’s unique currency. The enthusiasts Final Fantasy XIV the player base is understandably very excited.

“YESDKFJKEKDKDKDKDM FINALLY GOD SO THIS IS EVERYTHING WE EXPECTED,” a fan wrote on Twitter in response to Square Enix’s announcement.

“OMG POWER YES. I HAVE BEEN WAITING TO NEVER FUCK FOR THAT, “said another.

“YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES FINQLLYYYY (sic),” wrote a third party.

Although the “Make It Rain” event returns Final Fantasy XIV for a limited time each year, Rainmaker has not been offered as a reward since the hairstyle was first introduced. Even worse, an NPC with the same hairstyle: the resistance fighter Ala Mhigan M’naago Rahz—It was also added to the game in 2017, which served as a disappointing reminder for people who were unable to achieve it themselves.

(Side note: Final Fantasy fans largely believe that the Rainmaker hairstyle should be modeled Yes, a character from 2011 Final Fantasy Type-0 who has made appearances after Final Fantasy Agito and their follow-up Final Fantasy Awakening. I have not been able to find confirmation from Square Enix himself that this is so, but I will give the community the advantage of the doubt, as they look almost identical.

After asking for the return of the Rainmaker for years, Final Fantasy XIV players can finally breathe a sigh of relief that the exclusive ponytail combo is giving a return. Well, unless they play as a member of the game’s Viera race, as tall rabbit women apparently can’t equip their hairstyles. I guess Square Enix decided they had had enough.
