The surprisingly handsome 2022 Kia CarnivalSedona’s name change has been officially confirmed today; the news had leaked last month. We also get some cutting details, and although Kia claims that Carnival is now a “Grand Utility Vehicle”, it won’t go on sale with the all-wheel drive option.

Kia makes many changes to its fourth-generation U.S. minivan. The first three generations bore the name of the Sedona model, and now the model adopts the model plate of its Korean brother. The design is more similar to SUVs, hence the attempt to label it as a Grand Utility Vehicle in previous teasers, before changing it and naming the Multipurpose Vehicle (MPV) model in the latest press release. It will also be the first model in the US to go on sale with the redesigned company logo.

A propulsion engine, a 3.5-liter V6 gas engine producing 290 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque will be available for each of the four supply levels. It combines with an eight-speed automatic transmission and will only be available with front-wheel drive when it goes on sale.

Average fuel efficiency now improves slightly by a single point compared to the outgoing Sedona, achieving an estimated EPA of 19 mpg in the city, 26 mpg on the road and 22 mpg on average. Kia also says its new minivan will tow up to £ 3,500.

Inside the sliding doors, there is an option to seat up to eight souls, although the standard configuration has seven. In the second row, there is also a VIP Seating VIP package with elongated captain’s seats that are ventilated and connected to the entertainment system so you never have to sit down. Some kids will get spoiled and we will all just have to sit here and try to be happy for them.

The second row can be moved up so that a mounted car seat is at a distance from the front passenger arm, or can be removed completely, and the third row folds flat to the ground, for a huge cargo space. There are also the familiar family tricks introduced by the Honda Odyssey, including a rear-row intercom system for the driver and rear-facing interior cameras that even include night vision.

So far, only Automatic guide has reported pricing information for the new van, which is not yet available on any US Kia website:

Destination) for the base LX embellishment and will go up to $ 47,275 for the fully loaded SX Prestige embellishment. EX and SX will show the average order and will start at $ 38,775 and $ 42,275 respectively.

A Kia spokesman declined to confirm pricing details when Jalopnik sent him an email. Official pricing information will be available in the United States this week or next. The MPV itself is scheduled to go on sale in the summer.
