To celebrate the anniversary of the original sale of Boxster in 1996, Porsche has introduced a new special edition model “Boxster 25 Years”. Only 1250 examples will be built, each based on the current GTS 4.0 model. That means a 4-liter flat of 394 horsepower and a 0-60 of just 3.8 seconds. It will be available with a PDK transmission or a 6-speed mast, but each and every one of them will have this magnificent set of simple five-spoke bronze wheels.
Porsche calls this color Neodymium bronze, which is used in several places in the special edition model. In addition to the wheels, it will feature the front grille, side air intakes and the entire exterior plate of the car. It is described as “a bright copper-shaped brown” and contrasts with any of the three optional colors; GT Silver Metallic, Deep Black Metallic and Carrara White Metallic.
Given the choice, I would have black. Especially considering the inside and top of each of these Boxster 25 Years will be blood red. Oh yes, it would be very nice. You can choose your interior and top to be black, but that would only be an option a coward would make.
It’s been quite a while since Porsche has built a wheel as attractive as this one. It doesn’t take long for a wheel to appear, but a two-tone color paletteIt’s a way of doing it. The 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 is already an attractive shape, so you don’t need a complex and sleek wheel design. This flat face with five spokes is perfectly discreet. It only takes a little flare, as the radio meets the rim of the wheel is all you need.

If you want one of these things, talk to your Porsche dealer as soon as possible, because they won’t last with only 1250 built. It won’t be cheap, though, as it starts at 25 years old $ 98,600 plus an extra $ 1,350 for delivery. Considering the 718 ‘standard’ Boxster GTS 4.0 starts at $ 88,900, this birthday package is a pretty strong premium, but only these wheels can be worth it.
