The 3X3 San Juan basketball team, representing Puerto Rico, won the World Tour stop of this modality on Saturday in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The combined one made up of the basket makers Gilberto Clavell, Àngel Matías, Josué Erazo and Jorge Matos, Was crowned by winning three games on Saturday.
He first dispatched to Riga, Latvia, finishing 21-20 in the quarter-final stage. According to the FIBA statement, this team had three Olympic gold medalists.
Two hours later, with a sensational basket from Angel Matías, he eliminated 20-18 the whole of Liman, Serbia, which is ranked number one in the world.

And in the final, they dominated 21-13 to the Ub team from Serbia, which gave them their only defeat of the tournament during Friday’s action.
Matías was named Most Valuable Player of the Laussane Masters. In the championship game, Clavell slipped 12 points, including the one that closed out the game.
According to the FIBA statement, this is San Juan’s first victory since claiming the scepter in 2012 at the Miami World Tour.

14 teams participated in the tournament. In addition to Liman, Riga and Ub, there were Antwerp (Belgium), NY Harlem (USA), Aachen Der Stamm (Germany), Graz (Austria), Princeton (USA), Novi Sad (Serbia), Lausanne Sport ( Switzerland), Gagarin (Russia), Moscow Inanomo (Russia) and Alexandria (Egypt).
The third FIBA 3X3 World Tour Masters tournament this season will be played in Debrecen, Hungary, next weekend.
