Among the new officials is Juan Carlos Bidegaín as the new Minister of the Interior, who is the son of the current Minister of Education.
At least the appointments of four new government officials have been known this Wednesday to replace the posts in some state portfolios.
In the afternoon, President Nayib Bukele swore in the new Minister of the Interior, Joan Carles Bidegaín, who is also the son of the head of Education Carla Hanania de Varela, according to official documents from El Diari d’Avui.
Bukele mentioned through his Twitter account that Bidegaín has been part of his government since it began, “he worked as a director in the Vice Ministry of Transport and, from September 2020 to date, he coordinated from the Ministry of Health the logistics of the PES, the SEM “and the Interdisciplinary Epidemiological Containment Team.

Bidegaín will take over from Mario Durán, who chaired this institution and who in a few weeks will take over as mayor of San Salvador after winning the elections last February.

Earlier it became known that Pau Anliker was removed as head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG). Although the announcement of his dismissal has not been made official by the Executive, Anliker has already withdrawn his charge from his Twitter account.
In his place has been appointed David Martinez, a veterinarian graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, who worked at CENTA and was also director general of livestock of the MAG.

The changes in the government cabinet occur a few days before the list of corrupt Central Americans is known, among whom several Salvadoran officials have been appointed.

Also, Rolando Brizuela would be taking over as Superintendent of the Financial System (SSF), as confirmed by government sources in the newspaper El Far.
Brizuela would hold the position left by Héctor Gustavo Villatoro, who on March 26 was sworn in as the new Minister of Justice and Security to replace Rogelio Rivas.

Rivas had led this state portfolio since Nayib Bukele took over the presidency on June 1, 2019. The president did not detail the reason for Rivas ’departure.

In the afternoon, Bukele also announced another change: the creation of the National Directorate of Municipal Works with GOES Fund, which “will be responsible for approving the projects requested by the mayors,” he detailed.
The official in charge of this direction will be Álvaro O’Byrne, current director of the FOVIAL.
While as the new director of FOVIAL, Bukele confirmed Alexander Ernesto Beltrán, who was the director of Construction and Maintenance of Public Works of the MOP.
