This Tuesday, December 15, marks 47 years since Juan Bosch founded the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), after having differences over the direction taken by the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD). Today he finds the purple party reduced in its members and with several allegations of administrative corruption.
This is due to the departure of several of its senators, mayors and leaders in the Fuerza del Pueblo party, led by the expressive Leonel Fernández, who left the purple ranks after the primary elections of this political organization in October 2019.
The anniversary will also be in the pro-government party with several of its former officials serving preventive prevention accused of administrative corruption during the proceedings of Danilo Medina (2012-2016 / 2016-2020).
Antipulpo
One of the main obstacles faced by the PLD is the case of the operation “AntiPulpo” which involves two of the brothers of the expression and leader of this political organization, Danilo Medina, who on Tuesday night, Judge José Alejandro Vargas ordered three months of pre-trial and house pressure as a measure of coercion.
The judge ordered that Juan Alexis Medina Sánchez, brother of former President Medina, comply with the preventive provision at the San Cristóbal Correction and Rehabilitation Center. While Carmen Magalys Medina will be sentenced to house arrest for the same period of time.
The Minister of Health, Freddy Hidalgo, and the director of the Reformed Companies Heritage Fund (Fonper), Fernando Rosa, are also serving pre-trial detention.

Senators Dioni Sánchez, Félix Bautista and Franklin Peña, as well as Mayor Carlos Guzmán, decided to join the Fuerza del Pueblo and support former President Fernández.
