More than three million emergencies have been assisted by the National Emergency Care and Security System 9-1-1 during its six years of operations, a service that receives about two thousand emergency requests every day. .
Since its launch, 9-1-1 has had an average annual growth of 97,800 emergencies and depending on the nature of the event, the institutions are involved in response to the difficulties, with attention 24 hours a day and every day of the year.
These institutions include the National Police, the National Health Service (SNS), the Fire Brigade, the General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transport (Digesett) and the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC).

In the same way, we maintain the commitment to improve and expand a service that has considerably improved the security of the Dominicans “, said the Minister of the Presidency, Lisandro Macarrulla.
Meanwhile, the executive director of the 9-1-1, Brigadier General of the Army Vicente Mota Medina, acknowledges the effort made by the collaborators of the response institutions to ensure that each of the residents of the 25 provinces where this service is present, you can receive the best care.
“In the 9-1-1 System we strive to achieve safety and health in every Dominican in a complete and transparent way, which has allowed us to obtain a level of satisfaction from the citizens who have received this public service, of 90 percent, ”said Mota Medina.
He also stressed that the 9-1-1 System covers about 9.1 million inhabitants, currently achieving the 91.7 percent of the population, with the projection to cover 100 percent next year 2021.
The 9-1-1 System is a completely free and inclusive service, whose vision is to effectively manage care for emergencies and security in the national territory, protecting the lives and well of all Dominicans and Dominicans, as well as foreign visitors to the country.
Beginnings
This speed dialing project began in 2013 through Law 140-13, participating in systems from other countries and adapted to the Dominican Republic, integrating technological, economic and human capital resources.
