The Atlanta Hawks fired Monday at Lloyd Pierce as his head coach.
“We would like to thank Lloyd for his work and commitment, not only to the Hawks organization, but to the city of Atlanta. He and his wife, Melissa, are tremendous people who have had a positive impact throughout the city.” , said the Hawks president. Travis Schlenk, in a statement.
“We have high expectations for our team on the court and we believe that in making this change we can now have a solid second half of the season,” he added.
Pierce was hired before the 2018-19 campaign and had a 63-120 record in more than two tournaments.
Atlanta ranks eleventh in the Eastern Conference with a 14-20 record. The Hawks started the season 10-9, but have lost 11 of their last 15 games.
