The Australian Pokémon Go player becomes the first to reach level 50 worldwide

It’s been almost two months since then Pokémon Go increased its level limit within the Go Beyond update. Going from level 40 to 50, players have had a rising difficulty in reaching this rank ever since, one that includes some messes with UK authorities. Yesterday, finally, did not happen, but it did two the players finally achieved that goal.

It was achieved for the first time FleeceKing, an Australian player who captured that moment via Twitch, but it was a close fight all the way. Australian companion Lauren Bertoni he also reached level 50 just 16 minutes later, which made for an intense contest.

It came when several Go players reached level 48, but were waiting for a time requirement to advance. Unfortunately, they all found that their challenges had been reset by reaching that level. He led to Niantic investigating and once done, Lauren’s level 49 requirements were established. It seems that FleeceKing has benefited in a similar way, giving them a boost in the competition.

They still had to meet all the level 50 requirements, and it’s a pretty high order. This included gaining 30m more XP, achieving 999 excellent throws, reaching 10th place in Go Battle League, 5 legendary catches of legendary encounters in a row and 3 Team Go Rocket Leader victories with Pokémon of less than 2500 HP. A big question, but they finally got there.
