(CNN) – A woman in Australia fell down a cliff on Saturday and tried to be photographed in a dangerous place.
According to nine reports, Lumba climbed past security barriers and warning signs and posed on a rock for a photo.
Witnesses heard Lumba screaming, but could not help. Police and the state emergency service worked for six hours to measure the cliff and recover his body.
The viewing site was closed throughout the afternoon during the recovery process, but reopened to the public at 10 p.m.
Search is a particularly popular photo space; A quick search of the location tag on Instagram shows dozens of photos showing people near the cliff, with legs hanging on the edge or balancing on a narrow rock near the edge. A few filmed doing backflips on the edge.
Local tour guide Graham Wood warned the Nine News that he was looking for his customers half an hour before Lumba’s fall. “I made a comment to my clients that it happens (beyond the people’s barrier) all the time,” he said. “One of these days, someone is going to fall, and I’m sorry it happened.”
After this, the authorities reminded the public to pay attention to safety signs and guidelines and no photo is worth a person’s life.
“We can’t rope every part of Victoria,” said Police Secretary Lisa Neville. “People have to take responsibility.”
