CES 2021 is being held digitally this year and has not been as exciting as in recent years because many vendors have chosen not to participate. That said, some companies are still showing some interesting Apple-related accessories that will come out this year and will be of interest to Mac, iPad and iPhone users.
Wireless CarPlay is being rolled out and Pioneer has unveiled its new DMH-WC5700NEX receiver with support for wired and wireless arCarPlay. The upgraded receiver includes a 6.8-inch touch screen and a hiding control unit for installation flexibility. It arrives this summer and prices have not yet been detailed.
LG unveiled a new UltraFine Display OLED Pro with a 31.5-inch screen, more than 8 million pixels and individual HDR pixel dimming. It is LG’s first OLED monitor and, like other UltraFine displays, will be compatible with Apple Macs. LG also unveiled a new 39.7-inch 5K2K UltraWide monitor. Prices and availability have not yet been announced.
The Satechi Dock5 is a simple charging station that can accommodate up to five devices at once with two 20W USB-C ports, two 12W USB-A ports, and a Qi-based wireless charger that supports up to 10W. It is affordable at $ 60 and can be purchased on the Satechi website.
StudioDock is a docking station for iPad Pro that includes built-in iPhone and wireless charging AirPods, along with an optional Apple Watch charger to charge multiple Apple devices at once. It has three USB-A ports, a USB-C port, an HDMI 2.0 port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, an SD card reader and a Gigabit Ethernet port. Kensington has not yet shared prices or release date.
Dell showed off the WUHD UltraSharp 40 Curved monitor, which features a 40-inch curved screen with a resolution of 5120×2160. It has a 21: 9 aspect ratio and built-in Thunderbolt 3 connectivity, so it can work with Apple Macs. The UltraSharp 40 will be available on January 28 at prices starting at $ 2,100.
JBL released the JBL Bar 5.0 Multibeam, a sound bar with AirPlay 2 that makes it ideal for Apple users. With irAirPlay 2 support, sound can be streamed directly to the soundbar from the iPhone, iPad and Mac. JBL will launch the soundbar in the spring of 2021 and will be priced at $ 400.
Belkin unveiled another MagSafe charging option, the Boost Charge Pro 2-in-1 wireless charger holder with MagSafe, which runs on Apple’s iPhone 12 line. You can charge an iphone 12 and another device through its wireless charging base and it is more affordable than the 3-in-1 version for $ 99.95. It will be available in March or April.
Belkin’s Freedom True Wireless wireless headphones under its Soundform brand are the first third-party headphones to offer integration with the Find My app. These headphones can be tracked alongside your Apple devices, as well as offering eight hours of playback, ambient noise cancellation, and Qi-based wireless charging. Prices are unknown, but Belkin plans to launch the headphones in March or April.
