Dave Clark, Amazon’s chief executive, tried to make fun of Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) On Twitter and was immediately bombarded with negative news about the company.
Clark, who is the CEO of Amazon’s worldwide consumer unit, tweeted Wednesday about Sanders ’upcoming trip to Alabama, where the senator will meet with Amazon workers who are pushing for unionization. yes, Reuters reported.
“I welcome @SenSanders to Birmingham and thank him for his push for a progressive job,” Clark wrote. He added: “I often say that we are Bernie Sanders’ employers, but it’s not entirely right because we really offer a progressive job.”
“So if you want to hear $ 15 an hour and health care, Senator Sanders will speak at the center,” Clark added. “But if you want to earn at least $ 15 an hour and have good health care, Amazon is hiring.”
1/3 welcome @SenSanders in Birmingham and thank you for your drive for a progressive job. I often say we are Bernie Sanders entrepreneurs, but it is not entirely correct because we really offer a progressive job https://t.co/Fq8D6vyuh9

2/3 for our components: a minimum wage of $ 15, health care from day one, career progression, and a safe and inclusive work environment.

3/3 So if you want to hear about $ 15 an hour and health care, Senator Sanders will speak at the center. But if you want to earn at least $ 15 an hour and have good healthcare, Amazon hire.

Clark’s position was considered critical, including Clinton-era Labor Secretary Robert Reich and Sara Nelson, president of the Flight Assistants Association’s union, who responded with articles stating that working conditions were not safe for Amazon employees:
– Forcing workers to urinate in bottles
– dismiss pregnant women for taking too many breaks in the bathroom
– Hiring analysts to monitor “threats to work organization”
– Make employees attend mandatory anti-union meetingsThis is what a senior Amazon vice president calls a “progressive job”. https://t.co/l1BTe2SLqO

Low. Out of touch arrogant and greedy Bs. $ 15 is the floor and it’s pathetic for the work people do in inhumane conditions. You won’t even let people use the elevators because it saves on product. It reminds me of mine owners 100 years ago more concerned with mules than men https://t.co/EihA06Q4eR
