Now, folks, that’s how you enter a scientific year-end list. Like the rest of 2020, science had a hell of a year. There were exciting highs, such as the record speed of coronavirus vaccine creation and our closer look at the Sun’s surface, but there were also heartbreaking lows, such as the toll of the virus, the worsening of the climate crisis. and the tragic collapse of the emblematic dish of the Arecibo Observatory.
We have completed the most significant scientific stories of the year. They show the best researchers they offered us, the losses we experienced, and the cautionary tales if science is ignored.
