The boat owner closes the New York tourist attraction after the third suicide

The Hudson Yards boat remained closed Tuesday after the third suicide there in less than a year, as its owner struggled to try to prevent anyone else from jumping off the massive spiral staircase.

Related companies, which developed the Hudson Yards complex on Manhattan’s West Side, are working with psychiatrists and suicide prevention experts to come up with plans to curb the horrific, highly public deaths, a spokesman said.

The company has also hired additional security workers who have been specially trained to detect and deal with people who potentially pose a high risk of jumping off the 150-foot structure, the spokesman said.

It was unclear when the popular tourist attraction would reopen, but its website did not take reservations for $ 10 Flex Pass tickets for any date prior to April 1st.

There were no other tickets available, with the site just saying, “The boat is currently closed.”

On Monday, a spokeswoman said the ship was temporarily shut down after the suicide of 21-year-old Franklin Washington, who jumped around 11:45 p.m.

The Post exclusively revealed Tuesday that Washington, of San Antonio, Texas, was being sought for questioning by police in his hometown for the stabbing of his mother, Michelle Washington, 55.

The fall in Washington’s death came less than three weeks after a 24-year-old Brooklyn woman committed suicide by jumping off the boat on Dec. 22.

The first suicide there, of a 19-year-old high school rugby star from New Jersey, came in February, less than a year after it opened to the public.
