Jumanji Star and comedian Kevin Hart has been signed to play Roland in the upcoming Border lands movie seconds The Hollywood Reporter. Yes, I don’t get it either.
Border lands is being directed by horror master Eli Roth based on a screenplay by Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin. Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford and Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick act as executive producers.
“I am delighted to work with Kevin,” Roth said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “Border lands it’s a different kind of role for him, and it makes us excited to thrill the audience with a side of Kevin they’d never seen before. He will be an incredible Roland ”.
Hart is the second actor to join the Border lands cast after Cate Blanchett, who will play Siren Firestarter Lilith despite my partner Luke Plunkett contrary allegations.
It’s not really my cup of tea, but even fans of the tiny comic must admit that Hart is a strange choice for Roland, a stacked stoic mercenary who often acts like the straight man in the extravagant game plots . But hey, what could go wrong giving an already crazy series for its meme-filled dialogue a funnier guy who would shout apparent jokes at the audience.
